NFL Pre-Season

The pre- season games for football started this past week on Thursday August 11.  I’m sure many people, including myself, were excited that football season is finally back.  Many of us were starting to get worried that there wouldn’t be a 2011/2012 season, considering they lifted the lock out only a few weeks ago., which did not give the teams a sufficient amount of practice time. Many people do not usually get hyped up about the pre-season games, considering the starters usually play about 5 minutes of the game before they are taken out and replaced by the rookies.  This year I think it is different, because of everything that happened with the lockout, I think people were glad to catch some pigskin action due to the fact that there almost was no season.  Plus football is one of the most action packed sport out there, so who wouldn’t get excited for some good, quality, sports action on TV.
Thursday marked the first round of games.  Five games were going on that night. I flipped back and forth between the games, but the one I kept a close eye on was the Chargers/Seahawks game.  This was an interesting game.  I watched the game thinking, “Ah Chargers are going to take this, they are playing the Seahawks, easy game,” to my surprise it was the complete opposite.  The Seahawks have many new players on their team, which proved Thursday night to be a good pick on their part.  They have a new quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, wide receiver Sydney Rice, tight end Zach Miller, and Robert Gallery at left guard.  These players, along with the rest of the team and coaches, proved that they work well as a team and beat the Chargers 24-17.  I was slightly disappointed, but it’s only a pre-season game nothing to worry about. I have faith that the Chargers will pull through once the season official starts.

About Me

I graduated in December 2010 from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in Marketing. I currently work in sales, which is a field of business that I never saw myself in, but I have greatly enjoyed it so far. I would like to stay with the company I am currently with and someday branch into the marketing side of the business. I am looking forward to receiving my Master's degree and using it to further my career.
